![]() On past Friday I took a one day workshop to learn woodblock reduction printmaking technique at Dry Creek Art Press here in Denver. The master woodblock printmaker/water color painter/my neighbor, Leon Loughridge, was our instructor and showed us every step of the process, so patiently. While reduction woodblock printmaking is a very economize way to make prints, since you do not use as many blocks as you would need for "regular" woodblock printing, you are required to think almost mathematically to create your design totally backward. So needless to say it WAS challenging despite our design was simple. I learned a lot and did something so "untraditional" as usual like this image, printed upside down intentionally. It was such a pleasant day, sincere thanks to Leon and his lovely wife Joan. Keep on printing....
