![]() Happy New Year! Hope you had a memorable and joyful holiday season. I had many fun holiday gatherings with my dear friends here in Colorado and felt so grateful for each event. As the year 2017 began several days ago, with my husband's big help, I first reorganized "my printmaking storage" which is an accumulation of the last two years of everything: papers, frames, mat boards, bags, more papers, plates, and a lot of prints, of course! This gigantic metal shelf is such a nifty thing to hold pretty much everything I possess! So needless to say at the end of the day I had such a joy and I felt good to start this year with an auspicious "zen" moment, almost. While I am so hopeful and ambitious for this new year for many reasons, I also tell myself to make a print with a good spirit and a most sincere mind, just like I have been doing so. The process I have chosen so far may not be "practical" or "productive" in some senses, due to "mono"-type production, plus a lot of layerings, yet I truly enjoy every step of this creative and often even gambling path and will stick to it for a while. Not to contradict what I have jsut said but I will begin woodcut printing too very sortly. Wood is a choice of my life, or my favorite material to engage so choosing woodcut printmaking is nothing surprise for me and I am excited to explore the new "surface" to work with. I will let you know as soon as I have something to show off! Thank you always.
