![]() While I am seeking more opportunities to expose my printing to the WORLD, I am thankful to my long time friend, Hannah Levine, for letting me to show some of my works at her new and excited gallery on Gaylord, Hannah by Design. She makes unique and quality bead jewelry and shows local and regional fine arts; paintings, prints (MINE!), and ceramic arts. This is her first "full-size" gallery operation and she has been so enthusiastic about her business establishment. Hannah By Design 1061 S. ![]() Green, my favorite color. Last week I harvested all my basil plants in a large planter. This most healthy basil plant I grew came from Trader Joe. It was on the way to a DAM lecture, my husband Tom and I stopped the store on Logan Street to pick up a few things and my eyes were immediately caught by these basil plants, tightly lined up by the entrance with a marker sign with "$2.99!" on it. During the summer I tossed these delicate and distinguishably aromatic basil leaves into salads or flavorful pasta dishes and its greenest hue always reminded me that another Colorado summer was passing through rapidly. All harvested leaves were gently washed in the kitchen sink in a few batches and I made simple basil pesto, blending with garlic, extra virgin olive oil and walnuts. This irreplaceably precious green hue in the jar will surely inspire me for my next studio time.. |
