![]() The lilac tree in our backyard is certainly showing a positive indication of the new season. While we often miss its utterly aromatic blooming time, because we are almost always visiting in Japan during the time, the tree is surely loyal to us keeping its branches beautifully intact and lively. It is the first of March and I applied one of the Colorado summer shows this afternoon, The ZAPP application site has been quite handy to apply to any type of "tent" shows, though I often feel a tremendous pressure, when I see "them all" on the listing. One of the learning I have gained since I became a printmaker is that when you become an artist (regardless a full time or a part time), you also must be your marketing manager to promote your works, which is not that exciting process when they are often involved with a lot of fees and deadlines. This year I have set up my goal to the outdoor show for three, three shows. Please don't get me wrong. I LOVE showing my pieces under my little-white-humble tent. I truly believe that it is the best way to meet people (not for a date, I am married!) who walked into my space because "something" about my work is surely calling him/her. Meeting these people is a direct and powerful way of encountering to the "other side" of my art world. Fun conversations between us follow right away and I feel so very grateful!
